Good but rough around the edges
This game surprised me positively in a wide variety of aspects. -Good Visuals with plenty references to OG Resident Evil titles from the PS1 era - The story for the majority of it is pretty interesting with plenty unexpected curve balls - Characters constantly do things that you don't expect deviating from usual zombie game cliches. - The combat is challenging with the addition of the fast reload mechanic in which you drop your magazine on the ground. The bad things: - Some puzzles are completely random, either requiring very especific IRL knowledge, giving vague descriptions or even hints that are the OPPOSITE of what you need to complete it. - Lore File sizes are WAY TOO BIG. I love reading lore in these games but usually files should be 2 to 3 pages MAX. In DAYMARE it is not uncommon to find files up to 10 pages long which makes reading it a CHORE! - The inventory screen is way too slow which makes reloading mags or healing yourself during huge fights (especially against bosses) pretty much impossible. Overall I had a good experience with only a few moments of frustration. I would recommend if you want MORE survival horror in your life.
