Now, over twenty years later, Day of the Tentacle is back in a remastered edition that features all new hand-drawn, high resolution artwork, with remastered audio, music and sound effects (which the original 90s marketing blurb described as ‘zany!’)
Players are able to switch back and forth between classic and remastered modes, and mix and match audio, graphics and user interface to their heart's desire. We’ve also included a concept art browser, and recorded a commentary track with the game’s original creators Tim Schafer, Dave Grossman, Larry Ahern, Peter Chan, Peter McConnell and Clint Bajakian.

I loved Day of the Tentacle when it first came out. It did not have the full voice over for the whole game but just enough to give you the feel for the characters.
The wacky graphics fitted the style of the game perfectly and this game is hilarious.
I rate this as one of the funniest games I have ever played.
Well worth playing through and no really illogical steps to achieve results.
The full voice acting and remastering looks very good and only enhances the original game.

When was the last time I played this game? Over 15 years ago! I remember that it took me weeks to beat, and I did not have the luxury of walkthroughs at that time. With the remastered version, I was surprised that I finished it in a couple of days, glad that I remembered most of the puzzles (I don't have as much free time anymore!).
I was blown away with how BEAUTIFUL the animation looked! I wondered, surely it looked similar to this when I was a kid? So I switched it back to the classic graphics and AGH, was it really THAT pixely back then?! I guess my brain filled in the rest of the details ;)
If anyone is complaining that they switched the classic "verb bar" to the "verb wheel" you can easily change this in the settings, I definitely prefer the classic verb bar!
The character design and voice acting was delightful and is a great example of colourful, unique, and equally likeable characters.
This type of game is easily modernized, I can see myself really enjoying this on a tablet!
I love Day of the tentacle remastered!! However, when using the computer in Ed's room to play Maniac Mansion, I expected it to be remastered too...
Another thing. I use Linux and the first time I played the game it didn't have any sound! This is due to the fact that the game detects 2 sound cards (the default and HDMI) and I think the game uses the HDMI card by default, which results in no sound. Luckily, I could fix this problem running the game in this way: "./Dott --audio-device 1"
Not only can you play Maniac Mansion within the game, you can switch between original grapics and remastered. Both are amazing and with the commentary added, you simply must have this classic. If you played before, it's worth doing again.
Played this with my kids over Christmas on my Windows 10 computer and it ran flawlessly. We ran it over HDMI cable to our big screen TV and it added to the enjoyment. My kids played this game many years ago and we were able to play it start to finish in 3 hours. I can count the number of times I have been able to play an adventure game on my computer without any sort of problems on one hand - but, again, no problems at all. Can't wait to try out Grim Fandango Remastered.
