Another amazing Darksiders game!

Great addition to the franchise and true succesor of Darskiders 1 and 2. -This game is amazingly fun to play. I dont know why everyone is being pushed back by the combat mechanics, i had no problems with them at all. No loot system like Darksider 2 but rather more fun (my opinion) weapon upgrade system like in the first game. You can choose to slot runes in the weapon adding effects and abilities to it ,you can also upgrade the runes. You can upgrade weapon with raw power by fusing it with materials you find around the world. -Story is set before Darksiders 1 and paralel in time with Darksider 2 and is good enough while not awesome like the first but better than the second game. -The Art is in amazing gothic cartoony style like the previous two games. Everything and everyone looks cool - Fury and her variations, enemies, bosses, environment... what else is there? -About performance - the game is poorly optimised. Stutters, lags, low frametimes all that and some crashes too (ryzen/vega system).

Too much fuss, and underrated game

What a fun experience this game was. The artwork, the environment, character design, story, game mechanics were all fantastic. The game borrows heavily from souls series, but is still much more forgiving than the latter. The ending was truly epic with a great cliffhanger. You won't be disappointed as a former fan, but will surely miss some of the older elements from Vigil Studios version of the game.

I really want to enjoy it but I can't

I really like the series. I really wanted to explore the story of Fury. But the first thing that sets me back is the terrible controller input bugs. Basically the default profile that works in previous darksider games doesn't work with this one. At least for GoG anyway. Its constantly interpreting my xbox controller inputs as pc and rapid alternates between them, making control movement very janky. So I tried playing this with mouse + keyboard. Level designs were okay, but my problem is you're dealing with the same stupid puzzles that are more just annoying than stimulating. How many times do I have to figure out how to feed a firebug to activate some gate to move on? I feel like I'd be more productive playing a different game and that's sad. Darksiders 2 was my favoreite on the list and whilte the puzzles weren't exactly brain teasers it felt more zelda-ish than anything. Here, it feels like its trying to be zelda and darksouls x3 for padding. It's annoying. Fury is not likable unfortunately either. Her entire motivation is basically she's bored but really has to answer the council. She's snippy and hates everyone and everything and is known as the whimpiest horsemen. I guess she's fury because she got mad too many times finding the toilet seat was up? I don't get it.

Input lag on dodge?????

I have played a couple of souls-like games, both Fromsoft and not along with some more action oriented stuff like Ninja Gaiden, and holy crap have I never experienced the level of frustration I did here, I CANNOT dodge properly, the same dodge on the same attack will 30% of the time be a perfect dodge and the other 70% be a dash into headbutting damage. don't waste your money on this garbage, I love both prequels and the following game, the story and the universe, but this is just ass, I could oversee the bland visuals and puzzles, but combat is the one thing that had to be done right, and it really really isn't

Absolute trash

Coming off a first playthrough of Darksiders 1 and 2 I was extremely exited to give 3 a go but unfortunately after an hour (about 30 minutes of game time due to cut scenes) I was so disgusted with how bad it was I uninstalled it. The main character is a caricature, poorly written and annoying to listen to, and my god do you have to listen to her. The game is obsessed with cut scenes taking you out of the gameplay at every opportunity including in the middle of boss fights. Just when you think you are out of a cut scene Bam in game dialog cut scene where you move at an exceptionally slow pace. Remember in Darksiders 1 where you have an annoying companion well this one is cranked up to 11! Game looks decent graphics wise but some of the assets are worse that in the originals. The combat was anemic it never felt like you actually were powerful and if you get scratched half your health is gone. remember how both the first games had destructible assets and there were reasons to destroy them, well this game has some destructible assets and they do occasionally drop things but Cars are now invulnerable. Combat is off as well the whip looks to be about 30 feet long but if you are more than about 5 feet from the enemy it seems to miss an inordinate amount of the time. Dodging is only effective against some attacks, with AOE attacks its very spotty at best.
