Cyberpunk 2077

I purposely avoided info about this game while it was in development so as not to get my hopes up. I feel like CDPR dropped the ball on this one, and regret having pre-ordered. Keybinds are all jacked up. How did you not catch this considering the first thing most people do is configure graphic options and keybinds prior to even playing. My mouse cursor randomly jumps around and scrolls up/down on the character creation screen making it very difficult to even get started. The chargen itself is pretty lame as well with few choices and weird colors. Very unstable frame rate and lots of graphical oddities. The vehicle controls are terrible, and I am unable to exit the vehicle at the games start. Graphics are also a mixed bag. Even at 4k it reminds me of a console game from a few years back that has been hastily ported to pc with little to no regard for improvement or optimization.

How did they manage to miss the mark on so many levels? It's an OK game riddled with bugs, poor decisions, and cut corners.

This game isn't ready for PC or consoles and requires at least another year of development time. The A.I for NPCs is clearly rushed, offering no depth to the world and the number of glitches is simply staggering. The A.I cannot respond to the world and the player to anywhere near close to a convincing manner, which is a shame as this has been done to a better standard in games from 2 decades ago. There are times when this game looks fantastic but character animations are stiff and jarring on the whole, including facial animations (we're talking comparisons to Mass Effect Andromeda here). The gunplay is great, but all of this comes crashing down all too regularly. Characters are one-dimensional and inspire very little empathy or consideration from the player (apart from Jackie). There were many points in the story where I was left asking 'why do I care?' which is in stark contrast to something like The Witcher. Beyond the technical problems the bigger problem is the writing - it isn't good and will not be fixed in any patches. It seems at times like a kid has written the dialogue trying to make it edgy but it just falls flat and most of the time makes you cringe - this could definitely be my own personal preference though. It simply isn't ready and reeks of mismanagement. A huge shame but hey, this is what happens to companies sometimes. They really have a lot to prove in 2021 and I imagine they will have to pencil in a lot of improvements for 2022 as well, because none of the technical issues are quick fixes. Good luck CDPR!

This game feels more like a demo. It has no "soul", just a husk of what it could have been. The only good things are visuals and SFX. It's worth like 20 euros. Story is a mess. You don't make any real decisions until the very end of the game where you get to choose one of the endings. Nothing you do has any sort of impact in the world. Crafting is awful, you need to manually craft 1 item everytime you want to create consumables. AI is almost non-existent. You cannot change your apearance after creating your character, not even a haircut. The game could have been much more, a lot of the content was removed for the rushed release.

A big disappointment despite the fact I was not waiting for the best game ever but a decent game overall. Many missing features, non immersive open world because of lazy choices (AI, rain shaders, police teleportation without pursuit). I can't believe this game was made by the same people who created The Witcher 3. It feels and is clunky and buggy. AI is just non existent and breaks most of the immersion. Graphics are good but still broken and optimization is atrocious (even with a RTX 3090 and i9 9900k) atm and sound is average. Music is very good though imo but even that is bugged. Story is good and every character feels real, side quests are far more interesting though but always feel rushed in the end. Choices have no real impact and all ends have a bitter sweet taste with no real different point. The game is too short for my taste but thats a choice i can understand for casual gamers. Gameplay is very classic and does nothin new or better than any other game. 2018 trailer was a freakin lie. CP was the first game I ever preordered and my lesson is now learned : never again. CDPR don't rush your games and become EA or Ubisoft please. See you for your next game that I hope will be better.
