Janky; should not have been released yet
I just completed the main story, having also done quite a lot of of side content. Positives: - The city looks gorgeous. I would call it a massive achievement, but only if performance can be improved. - I didn't much enjoy the driving in this game, but at least it can be done in 3rd person (just about everything else is in 1st person, and I'd prefer 3rd). - Storytelling approaches excellence at times; tense and/or thought-provoking beats. - You can have a good amount fun with the gameplay too, if you end up with a build you like. - I see not everyone is so fortunate, but the game crashed or froze fewer than a handful of times for me. If just judging by my own experience, it seems accetably stable. UNFORTUNATELY... While the game is not quite "half-baked", it also isn't "fully baked". Its mechanics and systems are buggy and not always well explained. I could not get used to driving cars or motorcycles; even after dozens of hours it still felt awkward, even with a gamepad. And romances... Guess I've seen worse attempts in a game? Main thing that was awkward for me was how the quests where you get to know the characters sort of arrived at the same time in the game, and I felt too busy. There are very few romance options, and it STILL felt like too much was happping at once! As for sex outside romances... while the city is plenty perverted, 'V' is not. Witcher 2 was naughtier than this game. As cool as the city looks, a festival of jank is likely to make it feel like stage dressing rather than a place unfortunate souls actually live in. This game was to be released "when it's ready". It wasn't ready. At best it is, in time of writing, months away from being ready. The disapointing VERDICT: Wait for a sale.
