What a trash game

Im really getting anoyed from this game. The grafics and music are great but thats mainly it. The actual gameplay is pretty much bad. The parry system is really bad you have to jump/in air to parry and often it does not trigger if u hit the button so you loose a HP. You can buy different weapons but you cant try em out. In some cases you stand there with a useless weapon and no gold to buy the needed one. The game is hard, and actually often unfair hard because you cant learn what the boss is doin next. You will need serveral trys to beat a boss even on the 1st isle and some you cant even beat. This leads to more frustration then fun, Because its often more luck then knowing what you doin if you finish. A big issue is, if you die you have to do the whole lvl again, there are no checkpoints and thats leading to even more i dont care for this anymore. Be aware this game is not like Metal slug or other jump and shots. Its only a bunch of short lvls and boss lvls that are seperated from another. there is no fluid gameplay. I would avoid buying it, not worth the money because its not fun.

Good and beautiful, but...

The game is pretty good, don't get me wrong, but there are many moments in which the only reason why you lose is because of luck. Losing because a certain combination of attacks just so happens to land in such a way that is absolutely imposible to avoid them all feels like bullshit, especially when each of them requires to react in a different way (and in a game that is entirely built around memorizing attack patterns, punishing you for reacting instinctively to said attacks feels unfair and frustrating). Also, to whoever decided to make the platforms in certain bosses proceduraly generated, you suck.

Good looking game, but low on gameplay

Let's get it out of the way, the game looks fantastic, and has a unique and special look compared to other games. However, the art design doesn't translate well into the game design. I found myself missing many elements from the main map, and levels. The interactive elements blend too well into the background. The hazy lens effects and blurring don't help in that regard either. Then comes the gameplay. The movement and combat feel rigid like a flash game from the early 2000s. There are some questionable decisions in regard to cuphead's movement. I don't get why you can't freely aim. The upgrades are neat, but for most part, you'll dodge and use the basic attack. I feel the game got too much hype, and that is why I feel a bit disappointed with it. If you like the genre, give Cuphead a try, but keep your expectations in check.

I hate platformers, except Cuphead

Let me begin by saying that I hate platformers. Never liked them. I did enjoy playing Mario a little bit but never got into it even as a child. I do however appreciate a well made game, and Cuphead, if anything, is a well made game. I bought it and am enjoying it mostly for its creativity, not for the platforming itself. I play it so that I can explore all the artistry that went into this game. I can't imagine the amount of work, creativity and love that went into this work of art.

Mommy! This game is too hard!

The game looks brilliant, it has a very unique Artstyle and the animations are very detailed. The music is as amazing as the artstyle of the game. Also this game is very well programmed. You do not have the feeling that this game is 'glitchy' or something else. So why only four stars? I can not give the game the five stars it deserves because of the difficult-level. This game is very, very, very hard. Casual Players or Players who are looking for an relaxed evening with friends will be disappointed about the game. Sure there is a simple mode in every Fight, but it do not give you the contracts you need to finish the game. This is the reason why I can't give the game five stars. It is a good game but too hard for casual players like me ;)
