Awesome self built story
Awesome for folks who can read into an incredibly well built situation, play 3 times before you are actually playing the game , u will have no defense against the game but you will read the text boxes with the pause option. and then the story is your's and and you are the perpetrator and victim because you read it, you fed it, its weird its text heavy, i like it, the end

Very good game once you understand it
While I admit it can be "grindy" at times, the vast majority of gameplay in the base game has a very nice, tangible progression. I hate grinding in games but I am already 30ish hours in and it didn't become an issue yet. I feel most people don't get to the later stages of the game in which stuff really gets interesting fast. Also I feel most people don't actually read the bits of lore that the game puts right in front of your eyes every time something happens, which is kinda the point with this game. Cultist Simulator is a unique resource management game with very thick worldbuilding, an interesting cast and complex magic mechanics that has a steep learning curve but once you're past that it becomes addictive.

My Top Game of the last ~10 years
I absolutely adore this game. I have logged almost 1,000 hours. If I were to be glib, I'd say that this game is one that gets a lot of milage out of not having a tutorial. However, this is a strength, not a weekness; it allows a unique degree of mechanical exploration of the game, wherein you slowly discover it's secrets as you figure out it's occult systems and other secrets of the Mansus. The art is also wonderful-- never thought I'd see minimalist art nouveau, but here we go. Challenging, but rewarding; it actually acheives a mood that is esoteric and strange.
