Don't act like if it's "just a game"
I don't care if you make a game about beating orphans with a really well balanced and profound gameplay, it will still be a horrible game.

Not even trying to pretend this isn't attempting to cash in the tragedy that is currently unfolding. Not in great taste at all.

In very poor taste
(This review breaks the rules to review exclusively the in-game experience. Remove it if you must) To give the developers the benefit of the doubt, they may have had good intentions. However, this game is in incredibly poor taste at the moment given the worldwide effects of this pandemic and the number of people who have lost loved ones to the virus, their livelihoods and/or many personal freedoms. Perhaps there will be a place for this game in the same category of other games that explore dark periods in the world's history, but right now it is too fresh and too immediate. While I do not think this game is fundamentally any ethically worse than other games that promote lifelike violence or discuss the spread of disease, the choice of timing and title at best demonstrates an alarming insensitivity. I very rarely post reviews for games, but I was upset enough to see GOG promoting this one that I am doing so.

Bad Marketing at it's finest
I'll keep it brief without emotions: The good: 1. Gameplay might be great. 2. The 20% to put into charity and help. The bad and ugly: 1. Name of the game when pandemic is still ongoing, looks like a huge miss from marketing department to get on a fast and cheap "hype train". 2. Timing of release. 3. Trailer looks like a mix of Plague Inc with touches of 28 Days Later.

Disappointed to see this on GOG
The game is not just in poor taste. It's not just a low-effort cash-grab. It's whitewashing all the totalitarian measures that are currently enforced worldwide under the aegis of the corrupt UN/WHO. This isn't entertainment. This is programming (of the people). I thought GOG had a curated collection of games on their platform. They don't just add anything. So someone at GOG thought it was good to add this little propaganda tool to the store. This leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
