Great FPS - Semi-Survival Horror
I'm not sure what others are playing, or if I have come in after many of the kinks have been worked out, but I'm loving this game. Pros: - Intriguing story - Survival-Horror is sufficiently scary and keeps me interested - Base builder element adds strategy to the gameplay - Voiceovers are very good (I use spoken-Russian, and subtitles-English) - Looting is not too prevelant but just right. If you are willing to put in the time and effort, it's easy to get enough materials to upgrade your base and equipment - Base and henchmen NPC management is engaging and your choices have real consequences - NO WOKE BULLSCHIFF Cons: - RNG missions are repetitive, but really unnecessary and enough materials can be found during story missions to largely ignore them except to give your henchmen something to do and gain a few extra materials. - Enemies (NAR) can see through bushes to fire on you, where you cannot - Enemies (NAR) carry hi-spec rifles that disappear when you loot them (just give them AKs devs, and have them break 80% of the time they are looted!) From the perspective of an aging gamer who loved stalking around Chernobyl and considers the Metro and Stalker series some of the best FPS gameplay available on PC, Chernobylite gets my heavy recommendation. Do not let this one pass you by.
