Opis
Caves of Qud is a science fantasy roguelike epic steeped in retrofuturism, deep simulation, and swathes of sentient plants. Come inhabit an exotic world and chisel through layers of thousand-year-old civilizations. Decide: is it a dying earth, or is it on the verge of rebirth?
You arrive at the oasis-hamlet of Joppa, along the far rim of Moghra'yi, the Great Salt Desert. All around you, moisture farmers tend to groves of viridian watervine. There are huts wrought from rock salt and brinestalk. On the horizon, Qud's jungles strangle chrome steeples and rusted archways to the earth. Further and beyond, the fabled Spindle rises above the fray and pierces the cloud-ribboned sky.
You clutch your rifle, or your vibroblade, or your tattered scroll, or your poisonous stinger, or your hypnotized goat. You approach a watervine farmer—he lifts the brim of his straw hat and says, "Live and drink, friend."
Who are you?
Play the role of a mutant indigenous to the salt-spangled dunes and jungles of Qud, or play a pure-strain descendant from one of the few remaining eco-domes—the toxic arboreta of Ekuemekiyye, the Holy City; the ice-sheathed arcology of Ibul; or the crustal mortars of Yawningmoon.You arrive at the oasis-hamlet of Joppa, along the far rim of Moghra'yi, the Great Salt Desert. What can you do?
Anything and everything. Caves of Qud is a deeply simulated, biologically diverse, richly cultured world.- Assemble your character from over 70 mutations and defects and 24 castes and kits—outfit yourself with wings, two heads, quills, four arms, flaming hands, or the power to clone yourself—it's all the character diversity you could want.
- Explore procedurally-generated regions with some familiar locations—each world is nearly 1 million maps large.
- Dig through everything—don't like the wall blocking your way? Dig through it with a pickaxe, or eat through it with your corrosive gas mutation, or melt it to lava. Yes, every wall has a melting point.
- Hack the limbs off monsters—every monster and NPC is as fully simulated as the player. That means they have levels, skills, equipment, faction allegiances, and body parts. So if you have a mutation that lets you, say, psionically dominate a spider, you can traipse through the world as a spider, laying webs and eating things.
- Pursue allegiances with over 60 factions—apes, crabs, robots, and highly entropic beings—just to name a few.
- Follow the plot to Barathrum the Old, a sentient cave bear who leads a sect of tinkers intent on restoring technological splendor to Qud.
- Learn the lore—there's a story in every nook, from legendary items with storied pasts to in-game history books written by plant historians.
- Die—Caves of Qud is brutally difficult and deaths are permanent. Don't worry, though—you can always roll a new character.

Live and drink, friend!
[Original Review from Steam] Quetzal, quetzal, quetzal, traveller! Hear me now chanting some of my adventures. I've explored the rainbow road in the middle of the mushrooms forest. That was quite a [TRIP]. I've been infected with fungi so many times that even my tongue fell off. I've been dealing with Snapjaws, Chainsaw Bots, Racist and Xenophobe True Kin, Sludges that spite wine and make you drunk, an Invisible Troll in a pool of covalensce, sleeping bear-cat-like and so many creatures. I've never starved or didn't have a dram of water to quench my thirst but I've faced times of difficult finding these resources. I've actived a strange cube, shooted laser rifles, crafted chem cells, injected salves to regenerate my members, found strange artifects and old technology weapons. Hell, I've even chopped the face of enemies and wear it on my on face. I've been dismembered and ate my own hand to regenerate it. I've drank acid, that was strange, so much wine untill drunk and confused, a mix of cinder and honey that was delicious... And lava. I prefer to not talk about drinking lava but I must say it's... HELLA SPICY. I love Qud with all my heart. Caves of Qud is a fantastic Post-Apoc Mutants Roguelike. It's hard to understand it in the beginning but once you get used to the controls and world itself it turns out to be a remarkable experience. The sound is minimalistic but effective. The tiles are one of my favorite aspect, it's charming, strange yet familiar and has its memorable aesthetic. The mechanics are solid and it can be simple or complex, depending on what you're building with your character. I played countless times as Chimaera and it's my favorite character type. I played a few times with true kin. I must say Tinker builds are very interesting but it starts very, very weak. After 200h playing, now I want to understand and play with Espers, mutants who have psychic mutations and are very powerful yet physically fragile. It's a MUST HAVE for Roguelike Lovers.

Retro fun that gets better each update
Getting real sick and tired of “Gamers” review bombing games because of their political believes. Everyone is entitled to their own views, that’s the world we live in, get over it. I’m not normally a fan of rogue likes but this game added the option to allow me to save and continue so that’s great. I absolutely love the look of the retro graphics and deep lore. Perfect for a lazy afternoon on the couch or in bed. No need for a RTX super beef laptop. Their website same some short stores to read which adds to the atmosphere. Recommended!

The best RPG i have ever player
Caves of Qud is a roguelike RPG full of accessibility options and good modding tools. It has a Morrowind-esque world and probably the 2nd best proc-gen of any game. Also its community is very inclusive
