Nice bus simulator

This game is exactly what it says in the title. You are a bus driver and you drive a bus, very relaxing experience with a selection of buses to choose from.

Charming, casual fun, marred by bugs

In Bus Driver Simulator, you get to drive a bus in one of two cities, one in Russia, one in Germany. On the plus side, the game really is charming. While its graphics are obviously not made with an AAA budget, they are well-crafter, with a noticeable, loving attention to detail. This is true both for the buses, of which each is modeled after a real-life equivalent, and the cities, with the various neighborhoods being distinct enough. It's also nice that you can either play "career", driving either pre-made routes or ones you make yourself, setting how long you have to reach each stop and even what time it is, or "scenarios", where all parameters are pre-set and you have to earn a certain amount of money to succeed. (Obviously, you get money from ticket sales but are fined for collisions, arriving too late, departing too early, driving off the road, etc.) And it really is quite chill, driving around in a big bus. On the minus side, unfortunately, the game is rather weak, tech-wise, with some serious bugs and lack of foresight possibly ruining your enjoyment. With certain route/bus combinations, you can actually get hopelessly stuck on tree branches hanging onto your lane; it sometimes happens that the game doesn't recognize that you have arrived at the last stop (the rectangle indicating where to park remains green and passengers stand up but don't get off, but if you try to leave the stop, you get the "missed stop" penalty), making the route unable to finish; sometimes, AI cars stop at an intersection as if there was a red light even if there is no traffic light at all... All in all, I think the game is worth its introductory price, or a similar one, if it gets a discount later on, but not its full price.

'In Soviet Russia, bus drives YOU!!'

Fun driving simulator. Enough routes and bus types to keep you busy for a while. Driving mechanic feels good and is straightforward - can switch between manual and automatic transmissions. Graphics are pretty good for what it is, detailed buildings and variety in the landscape. Got it on sale for capitalist pig dollars!

Can be both fun and boring.

Bored and I had $2 to spare. Automatic is much more relaxing than Manual(you need to keep holding the accelerator even WITH the brake or else you'll be reigniting after every traffic stop). I managed to finish the Scenarios after about ten days of playing on and off. Basic tips for those who have never driven before, to be less frustrating: 1. Your steering wheel should be your guide as to your bus width. If the road divider is outside of your wheel, you're too far to the right. Same for the lane divider on the other side. 2. When turning, try to wait until the curb/kerb on the side JUST disappears into the bottom corner of the windshield before turning the steering wheel. That will save you from many frustrating collisions. Tip: You have 90 seconds grace period both before and after the listed times. That is, you can leave no more than 90 seconds before, or arrive up to 90 seconds after the listed timings(if it's shown as a span, use the later timing). Take this into account when adjusting routes in career mode, so that you don't waste time waiting to avoid the early leaving penalty Dirtier tip: there's no penalty for driving on the wrong side of the road. This is useful when you need room to brake for a traffic stop, but there are too many cars ahead. Spoiler: The final scenario has a moderately bad bug where the green detection box for the second to last bus stop is misplaced somehow, such that you get the "missed stop" penalty NO MATTER WHAT. Only way to win it is an otherwise perfect run(no collisions, penalties, etc.), preferably with as many passengers as you can get in the earlier stops, so that the final, unavoidable penalty doesn't dip you below the amount needed to be successful. Biggest spoiler: One of the buses has immunity to collision penalties, as well as "path guide" lines(holding tab when you're driving). I'm not sure if I unlocked it by completing all scenarios, but it's fun in its own way, because you can drive like a maniac with it, flipping other busses and cars. Note that this bus is basically a cheat unto itself.

A good simulator

It really is a good simulator. I literally felt like a bus driver. When I buy a steer wheel for the PC, will be awesome!
