A superb remaster

I don't understand some of the 1 star reviews here. They seem to have been written by ignorant fools. Firstly, no AI has been used to make the art HD. The art has been re-scanned and re-coloured from the original background sketches, by hand. Secondly, the people saying that this should have been a free DLC update for owners of the original game; are you actually insane?! This is a project backed by people like me over on Kickstarter. It cost Revolution Software a great deal of money to beautifully redo all of the art (as well as adding lovely touches such as real time character shadows). Rant over. As for the remaster itself; it's magnificent and I can confidently state that it's every bit as good as the likes of the Day of the Tentacle remaster. It's shocking how much better the graphics look in this remaster (you can press the TAB key to instantly switch back and forth between the original and remastered graphics, in order to compare the two). An essential purchase for any self-respecting adventure game fan.

Adventure gem, back from 90s

First of all, this is a HD remake of the original game. I am glad Cecil went back to the roots, because I was dissapointed with the Director's Cut version. But Reforged is as lovely as the original. I played it on the (t)rusty 486 back in 90-ies Funny thing is that this 4K remake looks exactly as I remember the original game in my memories :) I had to switch to the original resolution to appreciate the work done by Cecil on this. It has the same feel as the original game, the feel I was missing in Director's Cut. Is it enough to buy it? For me sure.

A great remake but not perfect

The original Broken Sword is my favourite point and click adventure game out of all the classics I have played and I still have my physical copy. When Revolution created the Director's Cut I was happy to have a nicer looking version of the game but after playing it and seeing the shoehorned in sections with Nico and the god awful new script which killed the tone of the game I went back to the original. After hearing about this remake I was worried that once again they would ass up the game with stuff from the DC version but thankfully they went back to the original game and after beating it I can recommend it to people who are new to P&C games or love the original. The nitpicky negatives I have to say are as follows. There is one missing line of dialogue missing from Syria at the Bull's Head in that you can no longer r-click the exit and have George comment on there being bloody fingerprints all over the door and George having a moment of sheer terror that he might die there. The other issues relate to final area with the Grand Master. The last scenes have changed drastically and I am not a fan of it and honestly I took away 1 point because of it. The final scene shows the Keeper of the Temple stab his sword into the ground to activate the broken sword but in the original he just knelt. The Grand Master reacts to the infusion laughing and floating for a moment which kills the tone of the original where he violent jars his body around and seems like he is in massive pain. When the Grand Master talks to George after using the sword he has an echo filter on and this is plain stupid and ruins the terror of the original that a guy with the power could just normally talk you into anything. Rosso waits till like the last moment to run to help George in this version not slowly slinking away while the Grand Master talks to George. Finally the line 'Eklund...Kill him' is rushed in this version while in the original the line is drawn out giving it more gravitus.

Brilliant remaster

The game looks fantastic on my big screen TV, but they've managed to keep the original atmosphere. Definitely worth a play.

Ready for a new generation of players!

Some negative comments of old-time lovers of the original fail to realize, imho, that this remake is ideal for a new generation of players to enjoy and live this absolute masterpiece. I had so much fun when playing this game on my PS1 when I was 13 years old. This remake looks gorgeous! I would have loved to play the game like this back then!
