You cannot adjust the video it looks pixelated even at the highest rate. And the controls are not adjustable as the original

Brains! More brains!
Blood is a classic and the release of this updated version was possibly the best videogame-related news I had recently. Fresh Blood brings back (a really close version of) the original Blood's gameplay, updated with some nifty features (e.g. support for hi-res 1920x1080 resolution) that make it much easier to enjoy the game on modern computers. Running the game on Win10 here and so far I did not run into any nasty bug, just a random crash that occurred during setup of the controls. Other than that, I noticed an issue if playing with CD music (actually a .ogg version of the original CD audio tracks), since the music does not seem to loop when playing and it will not restart if restarting a level (e.g. upon dying). I seem to remember the original Blood had a similar issue, but I could be wrong. In any event, I always preferred the game's MIDI music, so this is a non issue to me. BTW, for MIDI playback Fresh Blood relies on the Fluidsynth synthesizer and comes equipped with a standard 6 Mb soundfont (.sf2). It is actually possible to use a different (higher quality) soundfont .sf2 file, just drop the new .sf2 file in the game directory, then navigate to your "\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Nightdive Studios\Blood EX" folder, open the kexengine.cfg file in Notepad or similar, look for the line "seta snd_soundfontfile" and replace the name of the sounfont file with that of your new soundfont. All in all, I'd recommend this version of Blood to old fans of the game and newcomers who wish to give this classic a try.

king of the hill
i've got to say...story, soundtrack, gameplay controls, variety...this one is still the best of the holy trinity from the build engine. refine to modern systems so youger players can taste what is the real good stuff. It's very dark, very gory, very humorous,and pop culture refereced. a masterpiece from a time where games were simpler but much much better.

Finally.
It seems like the best build engine game would never be remastered or ported but it looks like 2019 is the year Caleb finally lives again in full force! First BloodGDX and them NBlood and now this... This remaster on a different engine is quite well done as you need to be really familiar with the old Blood to notice slight differences. The movement is slightly off but it makes up for it by providing a smooth fps across the board with some minor graphical tweak to improve the atmosphere. Oh and full 3D aiming? Hell yea! Also they seems to have added more voxel models to the game or this might be just me. Anyway its 50% off if you already have the original and it is WELL worth the money. It can't wait to see what Nightdive comes up with next.
