Great update of a cult classic
If you played Blood when it originally came out, that's what you're getting here. The engine has been updated to run great on modern machines, controls feel tight and modern, and the difficulty is still brutal.

It's Bloody Good
Really well done for a game from the late 90s making this an incredibly pleasant remaster. Only issue as of now is the game going black after quitting or apply new settings (I remedy this by ctrl-alt-del to return to desktop). I haven't gotten far into the game just yet, so there maybe somethings I have missed (albeit I've noticed some instantaneous hit registry by the AI, which can at times feel unfair). As of right now, first impressions are good.

Build engine classic
Possibly the best game on this engine, overhauled to be as close to the original as possible but with modern creature comforts like proper controls with mouselook, crisper graphics etc. Brutally difficult by today's standards but a whole lot of fun. I noticed one review mentioning there's no quicksave feature; there is. Quicksave and load are bound to F2 and F3 respectively. Be aware there's no autosave feature however, so be sure to save when you enter a new level because there's no "pistol start" option meaning that if you die (and you will be doing a lot of that) you will have to load a saved game.

Minor issues, but still pretty good
Never got to play this back in the day, I tried a few years back but the difficulty of the first level made me quit . However, I tried again and I'm glad I stuck with it, there are some great quality of life changes with this version that makes it feel like an entirely new game, of course is still challenging, but much more manageable. I completed the first four episodes almost without a hinch, except for this mision in episode 3 where you fight the giant spider on the sewers, after entering that room my fps went from 60 to 5 and kept there for the rest of that mission, and in teh fith episode the performance is bad, I get micro fps drops that are so annoying that I got a headache Overall is not perfect, but is still worth a shot, just remember: F2 (quicksave) is your best friend
