After the onslaught of bad reviews for the EE on Steam, the publisher decided to include the original version for free with the purchase of the EE.
Case closed! Hopefully updates will also improve the EE. But as of right now we can say that buying the Original version for pretty much the same price it has always been sold, will give you a free copy of the Beta version of the Enhanced Edition. :)

Quick cred establishement- I played this game on release, I played also daggerfall, Eye of the beholder and even a goddamn hobbit. Point is...I am old, so do not cite the old laws to me, I was there when they were written!
This is a very good game (for more information check out reviews of the original game, this may very well be the best point and click in history and at least for me, this is a PROPER sequel to blade runner) and as an enhanced version it is quite decent, good entry place for new players who want to check what the hell this ancient game is about and why are all the old guys sing praises to it.
Low ratings mostly stem from people who just dislike their favourite game to be changed in any way, and I get it, I really do, but we still have the original while the enhanced edition is mostly made to entice new people. It is a bit like a thing with Daggerfall Unity edition where a lot of old fans feel that new version does not have the same climate etc.
If you are a new player don't be afraid of it and buy enhanced edition.
If you are a veteran...let's be honest, you already own it on disk, classic edition on GoG and probably another copy just to be safe... you are not the prime target for it.
I know many bash the graphics of this game but it's a classic! it originally came on 5 CDs back in the day.
The reason the graphics are so blocky is intensional, it is to create a bit of drama and grittiness of based on the movie.
This is the only game i have played more than 7 times over the years.

HD and Retro don't always go together
Blade Runner is a fantastic game, as a point and click adventure enthusiast I have to admit it is one of the best game in its genre. But as with many classics of the 90s and early 2000s, you have to ask yourself: What made this game so immersive, what made me feel like I was being sucked into this world, forgetting everything that is happening around me. Older graphics aren't necessarily worse than what we have today. You can have the most realistic graphics, but if the game doesn't feel real and immersive, then it doesn't matter how great and detailed the graphics are. The point I'm making is, any graphics are great, if you can create a believable world with it. And in the case of Blade Runner, putting HD graphics onto something that wasn't originally designed with highly detailed graphics, makes the end picture not look great or a part of the world that this game has created. The 5 stars are for the original Blade Runner game.
I wasn't going to buy this since I already own a physical copy and a GOG copy, but GOG sweetened the deal and put it up at 50% off for original GOG owners. Sold!
If you haven't played this already. this would be the time to Runner right over and buy it then. It's a bit slower paced for a cyberpunk game, but the dark, oozing atmosphere and music will keep you fully immersed. There are some cringe moments in the game, but overall it's decent story and multiple endings makes it a bit more interesting as well. It's still better than the second movie. (backs away slowly)
