Beneath a Steel Sky (1994)

I have not finished this game. Despite this, I really like what I've seen so far. The story seems really cool, the comic intro is a great hook, and the story is fairly linear. There's no pathfinding issues, though it may take a while to figure things out, though that's with any game.

I heard about this old classic years ago, but if it hadn't been free with my GOG membership I would never have played it. And what an adventure I'd have missed out on. Equal parts absorbing, funny and clever this is one of the best point-and-clicks I've ever played. Don't let it sit in your account, do yourself a favour and try Beneath A Steel Sky!

Interesting story, easy controls, pleasant voice over acting, decent dialogue, puzzles weren't too crazy hard, and enjoyable all around for a game made a long time ago. worth a play.

Now, this is a great game. Without a doubt, one of the greatest adventure games not to come out of Sierra or Lucasarts. A unique story and graphics excellent for the time. And the price can't be beat. My only real complaint is with the voice acting, but since I'm sure Revolution Studios was on a tight budget, they couldn't afford actual Australians to voice any of their characters in their game that's set in Australia. But the voice actors they did get aren't bad, so it's only a minor issue.

Beneath a Steel Sky has a wonderful story set in a futuristic city where things are not as great as it seems. Embark on a journey with Robert Foster, a man who lost his mother in a helicopter crash and who doesn't know his father, to discover his origins. This is really an old-school adventure game as the story and dialogs are brilliant but the gameplay did not age very well as something it is really hard to know what to do next. As we progress in the adventure, we gain access to more zones of the city in which it becomes difficult to know where we should go next to progress in the game.
