Worth a play, just not very remarkable

Battle Realms is an ok RTS. It has an interest concept where you train troops by sending through different buildings. I don't think I've seen this in any other RTS. Although I haven't gotten very far in, the story also seems like it will be interesting. I have not tested this, but it gives you a choice between good and evil. However, the game itself is a pretty straightforward RTS. There's not much special to report on, except that it is missing many "quality of life" things that we are now accustomed to, like setting waypoints, grouping units. All in all, it's not a bad game, there just are so many more games that are more exceptional and remarkable to play and I don't think I will continue with this one.

Not for modern PCs, Abandonware

Crash Installed GOG launcher, patches, unofficial patches, resolution fixes, monitor set to 60hz /Gsync, run in admin & compatibility mode, freaking virtual box even and and everything else. Great game of the past but a crappy release here. GOG is terrible with refunds as well. Honestly, if I had to go back to using cracks, fan patches and virtual boxes to run a game then what's the point of purchasing? Steam beat piracy and other retailers by sheer convenience and making sure games ran. No wonder this game isn't on Steam.
