Classic
If approached with the proper expectation (old UI, slow paced), one will find a great game. The setting is standard fantasy, well at least nowadays. Back then, before the Lord of the Rings movies, all of this was quite niche. In any case, there is nothing wrong with standard fantasy :).

Baldur's Gate is one of the greatest cRPG franchises to ever grace an unexpectedly heavy CRT screen. It doesn't need a review. Should you be interested, this is the best way to play it.
