Best way to play this classic
Baldur's Gate is a masterpiece and a relic of the golden age of PC RPG games. A must play for any RPG fan, and this is the best possible version. The main reason for favouring this version over the original is the myriad of bug fixes, UI and graphical enhancements Beamdog have added ensuring the rose-tinted memory of the game remains intact in modern gaming. Many die-hard fans will recommend the original version with mods as an alternative, but the mods never reach the depth that Beamdog's efforts do, and can be a pain to get running correctly. Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition takes away the headaches or just getting the game to play nicely, and still allows for more interesting mods and modding should you wish it. Their additional characters and quests aren't really up to standard of the original content and can be ignored completely, but they are a fun distraction for the curious.
