Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition

still good game after all those years. Wish bg3 was not turn based.

I'm a fan of crpgs and D&D, played pillars of eternity 1&2, divinity, TOEE, but never the father of all: Baldur's Gate. Thank god there was a sale. The game is indeed old, even with the enhanced features, but it's still great. Pros: nice story, fun combat, interesting location, good art design. Really feels like D&D. Cons: can feel repetitive sometimes, the plot isn't the most sophisticated one and can be a little boring at times. But the worst: when u remove a character from a group, it stays there, where u left it. Rly, u couldn't fix it Beamdog? As far as D&D exp. goes, TOEE is still the king, but it's clear why BG1 was so significant. It's rly fun. Once u understand the mechanics (read the manual as u go).

Plays perfectly in Windows 10 or even Server 2019. Just Works. Finally got to mark this one off my list!

I quite liked the Enhanced Edition. It just feels a little more polished than running the original data in GemRB. However, I can't find my original media now, and they sadly still built the Enhanced Edition for x86 ... Of course, no OS is x86 now, and since I usually run Linux, I'm really struggling to find x86 libraries to get it to work. (particularly struggling with libssl.so.1.0.0:i386 ... again, ssl should only be necessary for the online / multiplayer features they added, and I've never used) Ironic, that the Enhanced Edition is harder to get to work on a contemporary OS than the original, just because GemRB is Open Source, and you can even compile it yourself to ARM binaries to work on a Raspberry Pi, if you want.
