This title is a very unique game in many ways. The combination of jRPG style turn-based combat, extraordinary characters with their own personalities, an epic and brilliantly told story, colorful graphics, and absolutely hilarious humor is something very rare. You will travel through galaxies, explore bizarre planets, and journey through space and time. There are no easy choices in this game, no obvious, predictable events, no black and white characters. This complexity made the game well reviewed--it has showed up on PC Gamer's Top 100 PC Games list three times!--and will keep you fascinated and amazed for many hours.

ION Storm Austin, the source of games like Anachronox and Dues Ex. Not to be confused with ION Storm Dallas, which was clearly a CIA front for studies on buyer's remorse. If you're looking for an RPG adventure game, this is it. Just like Deus Ex, this game has a fantastic story. It makes me a little sad that ION Storm went under. I blame Daikatana, and by that, I mean I blame Dallas. You know who you are, Dallas people! Shame!!!
This game has given me many great memories. Exploring wonderfully designed cyberpunk locales, engaging with the great dialog, and battling your way to victory are just a few of the reasons I love this game. The setting is similar to Omikron: The Nomad Soul, another game i really enjoyed! I highly recommend you try both! You will be in for an adventure you won't soon forget!
From the team that brought you Deus Ex, comes a game that's...unique. I've never played anything quite like Anachronox before. That's not a bad thing. The gameplay feels a bit wonky at times, mostly suffering to some choppy camera work on scripted scenes, but if you can get past that and the dated graphics, you're in for a good time. What I found to really stand out was the writing. The background information given, the character dialog, everything is coated with a thick layer of cheese and general silliness. Anachronox is a great game because of this, and anybody who appreciates these sorts of things will enjoy this game.
memorable and unique characters ands tory, funny dialog, great stuff overall. I've never liked timed turn-based combat with qte, the whole point would be to let me think and act without rushing, but it's worth tolerating. was supposed to be a trilogy but didn't sell well, so be prepared for a massive cliffhanger. I think the gog version comes with the semi-official patches (one of the devs kept working on it in their own time), but if not, make sure to grab them.
