This game broke me

To date this is the only horror game that I'm legitimately too terrified to play for more than an hour or so at a time and the new hard mode is even more terrifiying. This game perfectly captures Lovecraftian horror - the fear of the unknown. Don't read any guides and play this game in the dark with headphones to have the maximum effect.

Stress-inducing with anxiety

I played game through Virtual Desk and my VR headset which makes the game up close and personal. Definitely has atmosphere and crap your pants moments. Even when I had redo's on certain parts, it still caused anxiety. The Virtual Desk VR coupled with the darkness levels in this game and sounds made me play for only an hour or so at a time, especially before bed. Couldn't handle more than that at a time. This is not an action game but is in first person. If players like atmosphere, story, and psych-horror with some good puzzle elements (think Mist or Riven), you should play. Just warning that you may get some armpit sweat while playing. Torches are your best friend.
