It's Katamari Damacy only you're trying to make all these nice fairy tale places gross and evil instead of crunching up everything into a big ball. Throw in some of the stiffest platforming I've ever seen and enemies that undo your work and you have a recipe for a pretty disastrous game. There's also retellings of Grimm's fairy tales with some un-creative liberties that are mind-numbing in their tediousness. Was it made for kids with the patience of an Ent? Is this for adults with head trauma?
Hey, this is a very nice conception. It's so simple that it's really hard to write something about it. A conception could look not really challenging from description and probably it isn't. You won't find anything really challenging here. But it's highly playable and very interesting and addictive. If you'd just remember this is a simple game concept, I think it deserves 5.
At first, I was a bit annoyed at how simple it is. Only two buttons... jump and move forward.
But once getting into the feel of it, it's rather amusing.
I take it one or two fairytales at a time, then it's just right.
I just love mythology and fairytales. in all shapes, be they "disnfied" or "grimmified". But the Grimm brothers themselves DID actually censor some of their fairytales, they just removed the sex but kept the voilence - maybe they were Americans? Okay, on to American McGee's Grimm (is this getting confusing?)!
The game is a really simple platformer and not very challenging, but anyone who is into fairytales should love Grimm. If they have my kind of humour. And if they take the game for what it is.
