I think the story is great and I pushed throuhg the game just to see how it ends. It ends in a cliffhanger, but it's still a satisfying ending AND there is a sequel coming.
Sadly the gameplay is very repetitive and not really my cup of tea. You fight the same enemies with the same arsenal throughout the game. Sometimes I just ran past areas as quickly as possibly to get the story going.
I hope they make some major improvements to the gameplay for the sequel.
If you like a good thriller, give it a shot. Otherwise, avoid.
An enthralling game for all with a PC or XBox 360. A mix of horror, adventure and unique controls. Such controls as disintegrating poltergeist objects and finding helpful weapons like flash-bang grenades and hunting rifles. Special collectibles like manuscript pages or viewing T.V. episodes of "Night Springs" or finding and listening to radios that can peek into current events in the story.
When Alan Wake first came out I was one of those very skeptical people. It didn't really interest me at the time and so I just didn't ever think about playing it. A few years after it released, I had an itch for the good survival-horror type game. I had pretty much exhausted all of my options. I saw Alan Wake on a list of on a website and realized that I should at least give it a try.
To my surprise it turned out to be one of my favorite games. The story, writing, and voice acting are amazing and kept me extremely engaged until the end. I didn't want it to end. I highly recommend playing this game.
I've never played it for PC but I have for Xbox and I must say, this game is very impressive.
For one thing the graphics on this game are great, lots of detail.
But the best part about this game is the story,
It's so good, and when a game ends like this, you will want to play it again
(If you finished the game you know what I mean)!
Also, the way they present the story is very... unique. If I didn't have a controller in my hand you'd think it's a TV series.
If your a fan of third person shooter games with great graphics, and an even better sometimes spooky story, then you'll love this game!
