great story, but bad rendering
I bought Alan Wake 2, and before playing it wanted to play the first part first. I love the story, locations, soundtrack, simply everything, except for the stability. In 2025, on my newest rig, which is way overpowered for this old game, it keeps warning me that my computer is too slow, renders at most 60 fps, which would be OK with me, but the worst it is that it's badly stuttering about once per second. Both playtime and cutscenes run smoothly most of the time except for one noticeable sturred per second.

Interesting without being great
It's a weird game to review. I finished it without even being sure I enjoyed it, stupid as it may sound. I wanted to see were the story would take me, and therefore endured the same setting and enemies over and over. It takes a while to get into it, but I must admit I kept coming back to this, let's say, love-hate relationship between the game and I. Anyway, get it cheap and give it a try. It's not bad, neither is it great, but it can be interesting, which is more than can be said of most games.
