A must have
EN: An awesome game worthy of Stephen King. The story, the music, the art direction. Everything is perfect in that regard. The gameplay remains very basic, but it works well. In short, I highly recommend it. ❤️ FR: Un jeu génial digne de Stephen King. L'histoire, la musique, la direction artistique. Tout est parfait à cet égard. Decent, but...
This game was hailed in its time, but really, it plays and narrates like Silent Hill 2 light; additionally the controls/combat are as awkaward as had been stated before, and not terribly exciting, and if you arent interested in the narrative, you'll find it boring. It never achieves the creep or gameplay its hoping for, which older games did in spades with much less at their disposal. It isn;t about gloss and sheen, because this a pretty game, just not great, and techincally lesser games have done a great deal more. I absolutely loved Control, nothing against the studio; that is a great game; but if that drew you here, this is not that. Fair to middling would be more realistic. If you want the lore and a just decent experience, then you'll enjoy this. If not, you might run out of patience before you are halfway through. If you aren't curious about the storyline, you may just stop there. Personally: more interested in a sequal to Control than Alan Wake 2, honestly.

Classic game
A bit dated after more than a decade, but the story is still enjoyable, lovecraftian, just the way I like it.

Enjoyable, but feels old
I played Alan Wake for the first time on Xbox 360 when I was a teenager. Didn't remember much about its plot, but had a great memory from the ambientation. This time I could't find the gameplay so enjoyable because I felt it repetitive and old, also imprecise; but the ambientation... oh my lord, the ambientation, it's sublime! The colors, the shades, the way the world twists itself during the nights. It's delightful. Now I understood the plot and I'm really looking forward to play Alan Wake II to experience how Remedy has connected this world with Control, Quantum Break and Max Payne, and also to know how the story ends. Since I have played all these games, I recomend this one to start yourselves into the remedyverse, from here it all gets better.
