“What’s your sign, baby?” -Leisure Suit Larry
“Wrong Way.” -any woman.

Leisure Suit Larry has done it longer, deeper, and stronger. He’s been “around the block”, so to speak. It’s quite an accomplishment for a man wearing a suit that’s been out of style long before it was manufactured. He’s seen it all, from sleazy nightclubs and seedy bars with alleys that should be avoided at all times. He’s even gone native for a bit and grabbed a piece of the island life. His life has been full of tight spots and pulsating pectorals. His lizard’s always lounging and looking for love in several wrong places, the more the merrier! Always willing and able to perform some undercover work, our man Larry is a swingin’ single guy out for some action! His lines are as groovy as a record and his strut is something to be seen!

Leisure Suit Larry’s Greatest Hits and Misses features the loveable loser Larry Laffer in five complete adventures with throbbing suspense, pulchritudinous point-and-click action, and some parsing on the side! Hubba hubba! Help Larry score as you hit the town of Lost Wages, Nevada which “looks like a huge neon dinosaur making it with 6,000 acres of electrified sequins”, the scintillating sandy shores of Nontoonyt Island, and go to Los Angeles and paint the town red. Celebrate Larry’s finest years and remember, big things come in small packages!

My favourite adventure series

The very first one I played in 87 on my ST, on a monochrome monitor. I fell in love. You are an adult who is very unlucky in his romantic life. You have an idea about it, but not the level. You also think that that is the only reason you don't get women. The truth is, you are too corny, too rude and not much to look at. Being broke doesn't help either, nor does poor taste in clothing. Your mission is, get laid. That's it. If you happen to find the love of your life, great, but it is not going to be an easy task. What is going to be though is fun. A series which require a more mature audience, not so much for the violence (there is some), sex (there is some), but for the theme, humor in it. If you also happen to be at least a bit unlucky with women, it gets even more funny. I can't recommend the series enough, but a warning. They are not easy, they require thinking, trying different things, and exploring. SAVE OFTEN! Your character can and will die. This is a Sierra game, it's not fair. But it is rewarding, Obviously with a touch of subjectiveness (my word), I have to give it 5/5.

The Good, The Bad, THe Ugly

Leisure Suit Larry, our lovable loser, is a lad who has tried his best (with often poor results) to get ahead in his life. Finally, he is left with nothing more than a few bills in his pocket, a leisure suit he was wearing, and a virginity he was desperately trying to escape. With this in mind, began his adventure that would take him to great distances, and that would amuse players for countless hours watching him stumble his way along. Larry is an aged game, but there are many games that have tried to cash in on the infamous Larry's charm since then with poor results, leading to a new generation of gamers to wonder what it is all about. Well GOG provides an answer to that, by bringing forth the classics that have, despite aged graphics (and even those have been touched up for the first game) providing an intense tale of humiliation, laughter, sexy women and peculiar circumstances. Larry is 'so bad, he's good' in his way. He may not be the great love-machine and great greek god of love, but he's got something to help him along. You.

A funny, adult-themed adventure series

Playing 'Leisure Suit Larry' for the first time is very much like reading your first 'Playboy' magazine. It's a coming-of-age experience that you won't forget. 'LSL' is a highly misunderstood game series, but thematically, it is no different than the 'Porky's' and 'American Pie' movies. LSL1: Funny, but with lot less places to explore than 'Police Quest', 'King's Quest' and 'Space Quest'. I prefer 'Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded' because of the visual update and voice acting, but the original and VGA version still play well. (Score: 3/5; Sexy Level: 3/5) LSL2: My least favourite of Al Lowe's 'LSL' games as this one was more like a spy game than a sexy, adult adventure game. (Score: 1/5; Sexy Level: 0/5) LSL3: Larry's return to form was made better by the fact that you can play as Passionate Patti. (Score: 4/5; Sexy Level: 4/5) LSL4: I couldn't find the missing floppies. LSL5: The one that defined the modern 'LSL' visual style. The story and puzzles were okay, but I enjoyed the sexy and satirical humour. (Score: 3.5/5; Sexy Level: 4/5) LSL6: The one with the most logical puzzles. The VGA version looked good, but the SVGA version looked atrocious due to bad mix of photorealistic and cartoonish art styles. The SVGA close-ups looked great though. (Score: 4/5; Sexy Level: 4/5)

The one and only, The Leisure Suit

Thank you GOG for bringing in this irreplaceable gem of 90s gaming! Keenly waiting for you to bring in L7 Love For Sail! This game is a point and click adventure ala Maniac Mansion, but with a 180° turn and fun topic instead of horror/thriller theme. This guy is like a 40yr old Jim Levenstein from American Pie, before there was American Pie. He does try his best, but he needs your help!

Long Live Larry!

Leisure Suit Larry - without a doubt one of the most popular video game characters of all time. Although the 'adventure' aspect of the games itself was sometimes lacking, what Al Lowe managed to create in Larry was a character who, although sucked at any attempt to fornicate with the fairer sex, was just too hard not to like. Some think that Larry is nowadays a relic and hasn't aged well with the times but I disagree. He's still funny, he's still easy to root for, and the games are still entertaining. Each game essentially has the same premise: Larry's dropped in a location crawling with hot babes and you have to help him bed as many of them as he can. Yes the games are guilty of objectifying women as the prize, but anyone who played Larry back in the day will remember the woman invariably ended up having the last laugh. I can't recommend Larry enough, both to newcomers and those craving the nostalgia of reliving Larry's adventure. Games 3 and 5 were weak entries and unfortunately this package is missing the jewel of the series in Larry 7 but now that this is also available on Gog this is a worthwhile purchase for anyone who loves adventure games and can appreciate a crude sense of humor. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the dang copyright protection has still been included but when it comes to old school adventure games, Larry was the best!
