In Where is my Heart? you play the story of a family of forest spirits. The family lives comfortably in a tree in the woods until one day they lose their home and thus embark on a great adventure. Their journey will take them through the mushroom caves and even deeper down to the lifeless crystal pools and back up into the mountains.
Where is my Heart? offers a unique gameplay experience - the world is broken up into fragments, which you have to piece back together in your mind. It gets even more complicated as you proceed. The Rainbow Spirit allows you to rotate the world around and jump across space. The Bat King can see hidden platforms which only exist for him. Help the three spirits find their home tree again!

A very challenging puzzle platformer with cute graphics. I managed to finishing the game, but reaching 100% completion was too demanding for me. But will you dare to try?
I and my siblings played this game a lot on the PSP. We'd take turns figuring out how to solve the current level and switch afterwards. It's pretty neat and challenging too. Often times I jump and end up falling to a pit on another section. I'm glad they got it over to the PC market. Plus the monsters are cute!
I'd guess, in Linux I'd just write a joystick-to-keyboard driver in order to overcome the "Gamepad support" issues.

Mo' liek WHERE WERE THEIR BRAINS?
NOT COMPATIBLE WITH GAMEPADS.
In other words, you're playing this game the old-fashioned way, hunched over your keyboard, getting carpal tunnel from having to use the !@#$%^& keyboard and mouse, as if this was a point n' click game, or something. It's not. It's a puzzle platformer.
GRAPHICS & SOUND VS. STORY
There's a strange juxtaposition going on, between the otherwise bright and cheery graphics and sound, to the characters, and the narrative they bring forth, and it ruins the otherwise cheery atmosphere of the game for me.
The mother monster basically says she'd kill herself if she didn't have her son to take care of, while the father monster sounds like an abusive father and husband. The mother character's idle animation involves her crying. I know, dearie, I hate having to try and play this thing on a keyboard, too. So much for being kid-friendly.
GAMEPLAY
Maybe if I didn't have to try and play this on a KEYBOARD, like we were still in the MS DOS days, I'd BE ABLE to tell you what the gameplay experience is like!
