Not bad.

I think it's better than the reviews would indicate. It's not top tier in the genre like Diablo 2, Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn, PoE, or Titan Quest. I'd compare the Slayer Edition to Diablo 3. The visuals are good, controls are good, and gameplay is decent. I do really like how you can always respec with no penalty, so there's never a worry about making a bad build. I wish there was more loot variety, and more enemy variety though. Mobs are all quite same-y. The bosses and mini bosses are nicely done for the most part. I'd say it's worth it if you like top down ARPGs and you catch a sale. 15-20 USD is a fair price for what you get.

Incredibly fun game. Worth it!

This game is so poorly reviewed because for some reason people want the next Diablo. It's not. It's its own game with genuinely nice story, cinematics, items galore, music is great, it's a blast to play it with a controller, tons of customization, a great endgame and it rocks for single players like me. I have played it through twice and willing to go at it again with another class. Get it on sale and just relax mowing down baddies.

Buyer Beware, Buggy Abandonware.

Due to numerous bugs related to: -Broken dialogue -Broken stats and passive abilities not applying -Missing or broken sound effects -Performance issues related to effects -Gamebreaking ones, like abilities that get your character stuck in walls and quest looping -Co-with progression bugs Considering the developers did not and will not patch them out, recommended only for die hard fans of the Warhammer universe.

Blasted my way through with the mage

I cut my fantasy gaming teeth on diablo back in the day and decided to give this game a chance despite questionable reviews I'd read. Don't feel offput if you aren't heavy on lore knowledge of the Warhammer series - you won't get bombarded with it and there is no pop quiz. This game is enjoyable and I didn't feel like I was just slogging my way through like I do in simular games. After around 10 hours of gaming time the base game is done but you can still have fun repeating what you choose to and ramping up difficulty appropriate to your tastes. The only complaint I have is there was no button I could find that locked my character in place to keep my attacks at range and not make my character accidentally walk closer to a problem.

Pure fun action RPG at its best

I’ve been doubting about buying for quite a long time. I always liked the arpg genre, but reviews on this game have always been discouraging, most of them treating it as a boring dumbed-down Diablo 3 clone. I finally got the Slayer Edition, which includes all of the DLC, on the 2022 GOG Summer Sale, and I must admit that I totally don’t understand the reason of the mediocre scores. I don’t know how bad the game could have been at launch, but I totally recommend it as of now. It has fun original game modes, and quite a big range of enemies. It also has a lot of items to loot, appearences for your characters, and a ton of skills, most of them I still haven’t been able to use, because of the clever skill point system that forces you to think very well about the skill build you want to use. I’m really not interested in multiplayer, but I must be about 8 hours in the single player campaign, and I’ve just started the 3rd Chapter (out of six, I think), and I’m really enjoying it. Haven’t felt addicted to an ARPG like this since the release of Diablo 3.
