The best version of the best KOF
Incredible how 20 years after its release (I'm writing this review in 2018), this game remains as one of the best games in the world. And this (great) version has new scenarios, new characters, no DRM, a lot of options (you can change controls and graphics; there are interesting challenges and achievements; online mode) and the good and old (and very well balanced) The King of Fighters' 98. Just BUY IT!

On Par with the Steam Release
5/5 right outta the gate. Played on Windows 10 64bit, Nvidia NVS 3100M (256MB) laptop graphics, with an Xbox 360 wired controller. Plays flawlessly. King Of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match Final Edition ticks all the boxes. All the game modes you'd expect are featured, including a Neo Geo Mode for those who want the console experience. The controls are solid and smooth, much like what I experienced on the Sega Dreamcast release. The graphics retain their arcade cabinet CRT monitor feel, which lends to KOF98's aesthetic and original time of release. 1v1 and 3v3 are present including against the CPU. Online and local two-player modes are here in fine form. KOF98 takes what I enjoyed about the ol' Sega Dreamcast release and tosses in some cool extras. BOTTOM LINE: $13 (USD) is a very good price for one of SNK's greatest fighting games, and the very best of the King Of Fighters series.

No excuses SNK update both games now!
The Steam versions have the rollback netcode for a while, and these versions isn't. Stop treating GOG Galaxy users with LEFTOVERS. I do have both on Steam you know? Its very unfair the difference of treatment WE get here in this platform compared to the others. Alright seems both games will be officially added to the 2nd class treatment list.

Do not buy.
According to Code Mystics (the developers who implemented the rollback update), this GOG version is outdated because of a decision between SNK and GOG. So if you want the rollback update and/or possible future updates, buy 98UMFE from steam. Best 2D fighter on GOG
This game is awesome and the port is great. It runs really well and it just feels really good to play. I highly recommend it! Add me if you need a person to play online Im down anytime.
