Not the Amiga classics but Console Ports

Once I saw these games up for sale I jumped at the chance as I had fond memories playing the PC port of First Samurai and currently own the disks of Amiga version (I don't own a working Amiga curretly). After starting the game it was apparent with the bordered display and different HUD and simplified layout that this is a console port. After doing research online I have come to the conclusion that these are the First Samurai SNES and Second Samurai Megadrive/Genesis ports. Why these ports were used instead of the far superior PC and Amiga ones is a decision I would really like to hear from Piko Interactive... I would STRONGLY suggest adding the fact that these are the console ports to the listing or preferably obtaining the versions that fans actually want to play....

Quick and dirty emulation.

The releases here are of the SNES port of First Samurai, as well as the Genesis/Megadrive port of Second Samurai. There's not a lot of work that's gone into this outside of the garish borders around the games. Thankfully, it's not that hard to pick out the rom from the folder. There's a folder called "res" in each game's install, and in each of them is a file simply called "game." Rename them with the appropriate extension (.sfc for the first game, .md for the second) and you can play them in a better emulator than the somewhat basic one provided here. Dissapointing that they didn't go the extra mile to add the Amiga versions of the games, that would have been a good addition. They could have also gone a bit further with the emulation (though it's nowhere near as bad as "Castlevania & Contra" on GOG). As is, though, the games are enjoyable enough, if you're willing to get beyond the crap presentation here.

Not the game I thought it was

This game may well be good, but I just wanted to make people aware that this is not the Amiga version of the game. I bought this seeking nostalgia from my Amiga days, however as soon as I started playing this I realised this was a totally different game, and it actually seems quite inferior.
