Only buy this if you want more story...

... not if you want gameplay. Both this DLC and The Consequence almost entirely focus on stealth in tiny environments. Coupled with the lack of tools to improvise and the brain dead enemies, it's just not a very fun experience gameplay-wise. Its only redeeming quality is the story which thankfully is pretty good. It introduces a new antagonist that will play a big part in The Evil Within 2 (and be poorly written which makes its introduction in the DLCs its best moments in the whole series) while also giving Kidman an interesting backstory. Lenght is about 2-3 hours per DLC.

Incredibly annoying

This might be one of the worst DLC I've ever played. It ditches everything that made the main game great and instead turns it into a stealth and escape piece. No more horror, only annoyance and frustration. Also worse design overall compared to the main game, perspective and cutscene direction are weird and sometimes even involuntarily funny (when a quicktime event icon for example is shown right above the head of an enemy which makes not only the enemy unclear to see but also gives the situation a weird sense of comendy which clearly is not intended). Avoid. Play the main game, it's great. Skip the DLC, it sucks and will not be fun if you've enjoyed the game.

Okay for the story, terrible sprint time

Gameplay is pretty much "avoid enemies by throwing bottles and hiding in cover, reveal hidden things with your torch, press buttons and wait". Story is interesting enough. - 1 star for having both audio and text during logs, that is really annoying, for how the giant at the end can grab you through the gate and for repetitive riddles. - 1 star for the fact that Julie can sprint for ~5 seconds and then needs to stand still to catch her breath. WHY?
