When gameboy goes grown-up
I've played this game on Steam, but I'd love a good copy at some point. Nevertheless, I would love to express my support for this lovely game here. The aesthetics, the green palette, and the sounds brought me back to the era of my first Gameboy. EoA is almost like the now grown-up adult game of those good ol’ kiddo days. It grew up with me, and I love it. It has some what could be considered harsh stuff in there, but if you zoom out, it's actually a take on actual problems and issues, which makes it thought-provoking. It makes you think. In my opinion, that's not a bad thing. Also, the bad dark humour makes me laugh, sometimes harder than I should, but oh well. The battle is a part I kind of stink at due to combo stuff and having the brain of a flee (aka, that's on me, not the game!), but I'm still enjoying it. There are also a lot of secrets and stuff to be found. This game will easily keep you busy for hours on end. So it's pretty much a good deal for the price, in my opinion. And the dev is a really chill guy and nice guy, too. Every time he talks about his game, the slight shimmer in his eyes shows how much love, passion, and care he put into it and continues to put into it. Idk why, but that makes me smile. It’s always so lovely to see the love of a developer for their game. This is what makes indies, indies, in my opinion. They have a particular soul and heart in them every time, and that’s just *a chef’s kiss* Extra star for being able to pet the animal you choose as a companion at the beginning! ^_^
