Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
The game was very beautiful, colorful and addictive.
I finished the game in two sessions. Where the puzzle was very difficult, I could rely upon the occasional hint, but there is no penalty for availing yourself of that feature.
Many of the puzzles were just "move through the only path available", which is like doing a maze with just one corridor. Does that even count as a puzzle?
The description says "over 500 hand-crafted levels". There are, however, exactly 500, not over 500.
You may like it anyway.
This game (with ads) can be played on your phone, or a number of websites for free. As are all the other games the developer has on GOG at the time of writing.
I played Swipepi online (with ads). It is, in fact, best played in a browser on a stationary PC or laptop. The game does support touch interfaces (as the name suggests), but using the keyboard feels more natural.
The offline version adds no new features other than being ad-free.
The game only requires 4 direction keys to control. Your goal is to color the entire board. The puzzle mechanic is, that once you press a key, your "snake" will go straight and cannot change direction until it hits a wall or other obstacle. There are two special blocks (teleports and stoppers), but that's really all there is. Even progressing through the levels doesn't introduce anything new.
There are no save slots, no difficulty levels, the maps are tiny, and each level is so super easy that most of them take only a few seconds to complete.
The game is too bare bones for longer sessions and (if at all) is best enjoyed in short bursts.
Where other games by the same developer have at least some level of subjective appeal, this specific title is too bare bones.
I can recommend this game only if you absolutely wish to support the developer.
