Released too early

Game refunded @ approx. 6hrs played The game is bug ridden and severely lacking in basic QoL features, being offered in only a handful of full screen only 16:9 aspect ratios, with no wide screen support. Many of the pop-up windows ran past the screen edges and were unreadable Saves (both Auto & Manual) were broken, resulting in an endless loading screen. I had to start the campaign from the beginning every time I launched the game... I gave up after losing my 5th save Searches show this is a known issue, but the fix posted does not apply to the GoG version While moderately fun for a short period, the game play loop quickly became repetitive. Take order --> Cruise to Port --> Deliver order --> Take new order Functionally there is no difference between Free-play vs Campaign, as the rival companies' AI is feeble minded and no challenge at all Frankly, I'm not sure what the Developers were trying to create: There's no actual ship handling to call it a Marine sim There's no control over personnel to call it a Management sim There's not enough detail or control over financials to call it a Tycoon game I had fun, for a bit, but overall it's very meh and not worth its price point

needs more balancing

For disclaimer, I only played the non-campaign mode, i.e. the freeroam or sandbox mode. If you enjoy min/max games like Factorio and Production Line this might be your thing. If you enjoy logistics and trading games like Freight Tycoon and Port Royale, I'm not sure it is. The profits from shipping are too low and the expenses too high, and the random negative events that occur are too punishing. These narrow margins might be more realistic, but for me it made the gameplay less fun. There are also too few contracts, especially going to the same destination country or region. It needs to have at least the double. A minor complaint is that the game would have been nicer with a real world-looking map. There are positives as well though: a relaxing game, the game mechanics were easy to learn and get into, nice atmosphere and presentation, a fitting price for the amount of depth it has. They also seem to work with real-world data, which is always cool. So there's lots of potential, and we are seriously lacking in games like this. So hopefully the game will be really good after a patch or two, and I will give it another chance. I can only review the game I got however, and I expected something like Freight Tycoon but feel I got something like Factorio instead, which is not what I was looking for personally.

Interesting but has bugs

I always wanted a game like this, so that part is really good. Thank you to the developer for making this game as it's rather rare to see this type of game. Now, over all this game is good and fun. You can play while watching videos for example if you just have a few ships. However it's a time sink when you starting to get 6-8 ships and gets much worse after that. The pause mode is there for your biggest help to sort things out. You have 3 types of ships, or technically 4 as oil and gas tankers are for some reason in the same category. Aside from oil and gas, you can transport containers and bulk (raw ore for example). It would be fun to have some other type ships added, like multi-purpose vessels, Reefer ships, Ro-ro vessels, heavy-lift ships, etc. It will broaden the options a lot, specially if you have the option to use way more ships at the same time. Fortunately you can get "on" your ship and see it docked or sailing, however unfortunately you can't really see it's journey as it will technically be on pause and you don't actually travel with the ship. Rather disappointing. There are a lot of important ports not added yet, if I understood it correctly, the developer mentioned this will be addressed at some point. I do hope this will be the case. BUGS: These are the ones I noticed, I do hope a patch will come to fix this. - you click trough the map and the UI for some reason. Clearly not meant to happen as it causes rather annoying issues - using your scroll wheel will zoom the map when you try to scroll trough your ships. Rather annoying - Even on easy the AI oddly enough will pass you so you can't really win. Regardless what you try, you can't keep up or catch up. This is pretty much a show stopper as it makes it impossible to win.

Graphics to slow in some screens

Excellent gameplay, but poor performance on recommended specs. Startup and ship purchase screens are slow. The map is impressive, but would be better if we could see cargo contracts in other ports when the ship is anchored in a port without contracts so we could decide where to go easily. Otherwise, a great game! I find it easy to win even in hard model, for me its not a beg deal its good been able to win lol
