Sci-Fi (FTL) fans take note of this one
Hint: Use the first letter of the word you wish to select as a shortcut rather than using arrows, it's way faster ;) Had this game when I was young, played it for hours on my older brother's Amstrad computer. Words cannot express how good it felt to be in command of a spaceship, pick it's crew, destination, route and priorities. Took 6-yr old me weeks just to figure out how to get the ship moving, let alone making it to the closest destination (easiest setting). This game is a challenge already on the 2nd setting, the hardest one is just brutal. Take the time to read the backgrounds of your crew. Do you want a loner with a temper who has no problem getting things done without your input or do you prefer a nicer team-player who is rubbish at one particular task? The vast possibilities and the high level of control are it's highlights. It's weaknesses are obvious. I used to play this on a black and white monitor, at least now it has some color but don't expect too much from the graphics. The sound is both primitive and repetitive, I end up making it barely audible. The technical limitations are tangible and each task requires constant maneuvering between menus. The 5/5; even though it has technical limitations, it's a blast from the past.
