Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles Demo is available here
Meet Lumote, the squishiest bioluminescent creature, on a quest to overthrow the Mastermote in this beautiful 3D puzzle platformer. In a tale of two opposing powers, Lumote must possess, jump and think its way through a world of puzzles. To help in the quest, Lumote’s ability to possess Motes will help reach areas not normally accessible. For every puzzle Lumote completes opening flower gates, it is one step closer to finding Mastermote!
Seafoam Moocher
Squish, bop and bounce through the world around you. Lumote is extremely curious, highly inquisitive and adorable!
That's one big world!
The world of Lumote is a single massive environment with numerous puzzles separated into towers. Each tower marks your mastery of a specific Mote and unlocks a new set of puzzles to explore.
Solve intricate puzzles
Set in a 3D puzzle adventure, clever and logical level design ease players in whilst increasing the complexity with each Mote you meet.
Gorgeous sounds
A stunning score accompanies you, deep and trance-like that will take you on a majestical electronica soundscape journey.
rEngine
Using the original rEngine, Lumote’s puzzles are all interconnected and you can seamlessly go from one puzzle to the next as you progress.
This Puzzle-Platformer is absolutely gorgeous; I love the vaguely sea-themed, but bright, colorful, and wildly abstract visuals. Most everything moves fairly well; the jumping feels a little stiff, even with a double-jump, but there isn't much of an emphasis on it, so it doesn't cause a lot of problems. The puzzles mechanics are a mixed bag; some are very intuitive, but not all of their rules are easy to understand. That said, aside from the very end, most aren't too frustrating.

Recommended Hint/spoiler in the very end.
Decent puzzle game, Im glad I gave it a try.
It has a few things worth mentioning tho.
First I will say that I def agree with below review saying that the puzzles are not always intuitive or easy to understand. Holy Molly did I scratch my head trying to understand how and why and huh and even after solving it it still didnt always get it. Particularly the stuff with the jelly fish and beam stuff later in.
That said its a good enough puzzle game to meddle with if u love this type of game and dont mind either using YT guides along the way or really enjoy riddling things out.
Second, a thing that might greatly frustrate the many, is the holes in the middle of the floor sometimes. You cant always see them and you think its the ground but then there is that hole out of nowhere and you fall down.
You start over each little puzzle if you die but once you know the solutions getting bk to where you were is fast.
For this same reason I would recommend you go look for collectables B4 you start trying to solve the puzzles, b/c some of them you will need to suicide for or very likely will die to get.
Controls are decent, cant be rebound.
Space, shift, left right mouse click, wasd/arrow.
Controls are fluid and smooth, but some might find the camera position annoying.
There are 3 zooms and it was fine!
One major crash which froze my entire game then pc. A few mentions of crashes on Linux b4 updates. Nothing like that since, not sure if its a game or a me problem.
One of the YT guides shows one solution wrong.
w1 t6-9 (options>show puzzle stats) might appear bugged (I think it was slightly) if u try it one way, but another video guide worked for me instead.
HINT:
-Opposite Colours LOWER, Same Colour RAISE. What colour is ur npc?
Can it be used to change another? Weight/grip. >COLOURS!
-Listen to npc's sound, they hint to correct vs wrong and solutions!
Cute sounds and beautiful!
