I don't trust fallen leaves

Those coming from the previous instalment can rest assured that the quality only improved in the sequel, and new players won't be lost either. Since this is a game without text, the designers have to rely on visual and sound clues to guide players and introduce them to game mechanics and they've achieved that marvellously. You see many sprung traps before encountering the first which poses an actual danger to you. You see a well-lit trap with a wooden branch in it, giving you the solution to bypassing the trap in front of you. You see footsteps in the dirt and a boiling kettle on the oven, communicating that the house you're in is very much inhabited even before you meet a soul. And finally, you hear the theme tune of the previous game played long before you meet a familiar face, which is a brilliant introduction. Speaking of Six, the protagonist of the previous game, she's not just a companion who follows one step behind you and only ever does anything when you prompt her to. You drop a lever and she takes it and uses right away. You hear a noise, and she crouches and gives you a quick “psst”. You hide from a pursuer, but at some point she comes out of hiding and gestures to you to follow her. And when you're both in danger, she'll think about her own safety first. Overall she feels much more alive this way. I think starting in a gloomy forest after spending the previous game indoors is a brilliant choice. I thought the big mystery of the game will be about what's under Mono's (the new protagonist) paper bag – perhaps it still will be – but since you can wear different hats (and X-ray your head in the trailer), it might not be that big of a deal. Minor criticism/bugs might be the branch bouncing off thin air when swung in the foreground, not being able to safely trigger rope traps by approaching them carefully and Mono's face cover being fully removed when changing hats (though it's still blurred). Overall, I can't wait until February to see the full game.

A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups (Part 2)

As someone who played the first one and finished the game + all the DLCs for about 4 to 5 times, and still visit that game from time to time, this sequel got me very very excited. And the publisher is kind and cool enough to provide us with this demo. Really hope that this becomes the norm for all other publishers This demo is just about twenty minutes long, but if you haven't played the first one, this is a good introduction and will let you get the feel of the game. If you have played the first one already, than you'll notice a few gameplay concept that is new. Which is a companion. And I love it. I really like how the main character and the companion interacts. It adds more depth and immersion to the game. I don't know if this is going to happen much or all the way in the game, but I really hope it is. Graphics is better than the first one, slightly better. I love how they introduce this game in the outdoors, while in the first game, it's almost all indoors. There is minimal hand holding, no dialogue, no text, and you have to be aware and observant of your surroundings in order to survive or to progress. All in all this is a very good demo of a sequel to one of (in my humble opinion) the best dark - fairy tale - horror - game that I've ever played. If you haven't played the first one and you find yourself hooked to this demo, then I would strongly suggest you to play the first one as a warming up for when the game comes out. I would definitely buy this game when it's out.

Excellent

Enjoyable and logical puzzles to solve. Incredible art. Great sound design. I didn't play the first one but now I'd like to while waiting for this one to release. Key rebinding would be nice, maybe the ability to hold middle mouse to look around, instead of having to use arrow keys.

Felt way too console-ish for me

Feels very scripted, like trial and error gameplay/encounters, and very hard to control/aim when you for example should jump and grab something. Not at all the type of game I prefer to play on pc. I didn't get any horror-vibes from it either, and I usually get scared by scary games/movies. This just felt very clunky and console-ish. Ok graphics though with all on max, but nothing spectacular either. But I guess it's good if you're into this type of games/gameplay, this was just my opinion. Nice with a demo though so everyone can try themselves! :)
