Preservation Program needs work
This is probably one of the best open-world Lego games ever made. However, it was always a bad PC port in terms of performance. From the day it was initially released, it suffered from CTDs, missing textures, poor performance and framepacing, etc. There is a fix for these problems though. It is called Lego City Recovered which is simply an older tailored version of Special K. This small mod allows the framerate to be unlocked over 60 while remaining stable, and addresses most, if not all of the crashes due to poor handling of multithreading. This mod is now also built into the main releases of Special K, but it loses fps in comparison to the tailored version unless a launch command of MAX FPS 0 is also entered. We thus arrive at my point. It's a fantastic game that has already been fixed by modders, yet GOG has released it just as broken as the other platforms. GOG is notorious for using fan-made patches and software, but when it comes to the so-called "Preservation Program", GOG isn't and han't done anything whatsoever.
