Hell Temple this isn't, but it is fun.
The Tower of Oannes DLC adds a single field to La-Mulana 2. Whereas Hell Temple consisted of a difficult time finding the way into an area filled with obtuse puzzles and challenging platforming, the Tower here has some really tricky puzzles for opening the entrance (I needed some help to solve them), but it's all platforming/action once inside. The Tower is filled with insta-kill/gotcha traps between you and the 4 boss battles making progress dependent on how long it takes you to learn to overcome the traps (I was able to complete all of the Tower interior in about 2 hours without help). The Good -The traps are annoying at first, but after getting mashed for the 20th time or so it actually becomes pretty funny. -Interior is not insanely difficult to solve, and it feels earned when you reach a new room. -The Fish King is funny -Boss fights have some unique elements not seen in the main game. -It's more La Mulana and that's (nearly) always a good thing. The Bad -Traps are frustrating at first as it's all insta-kill, many of which you just won't see coming. -Gaining entry to the Tower is pretty tricky, and I don't think I would have solved that on my own as the clues are in some cases too vague or seemingly misleading. -It's a pretty small area that if you're really working quickly you could clear in under an hour. -There is no Grail tablet, at least not one I found, (there ARE several prayer altars that work with the Totem Pole), so if you don't have the time or desire to finish it in one go, make sure you teleport out of the Tower to a Grail tablet to save. The Bottomline The Tower is an interesting new area that has some fun boss fights and an amusing reward. The gotcha moments are aggravating at first, but it becomes a funny challenge to see how many you can find. If you like La Mulana 2, you'll probably have a good time with the Tower, but don't expect the same absurdity of Hell Temple; the Tower of Oannes is easier but not easy.
