Description
Jenny LeClue is a thrilling story of mystery, adventure and growing up. Set in the sleepy town of Arthurton, the game is filled with memorable, complex characters and rendered in a unique aesthetic.

Embrace the choosiness and shape the metanarrative. You are not the only guiding hand shaping Jenny’s destiny, but your choices will help her unravel the tangled mystery and become the detective she was born to be.

Jenny gets more than she bargains for when her mother is accused of murder, and begins an unexpected journey to find the truth.

She soon discovers the idyllic town of Arthurton is not what it seems, and unseen forces will stop at nothing to keep Jenny from the truth. She will need all her skills of deduction to find the real killer and clear her mother’s name.

A pocket-sized heroine on a big quest for justice:
Jenny is a brilliant young detective, sharp eyed, intuitive and a ruthless pursuer of the truth. She is able to look around during dialogue scenes, observing the subject for visible clues that might reveal their guilt or innocence that would otherwise go undetected.

A beautiful handmade world, packed with secrets:
A sleek, gorgeous hand drawn world with vintage mid-20th century aesthetics and mystery squished into every corner. There’s so much to interact with, and players who poke and prod at every last thing are rewarded with insight, secrets, and humor.

A story within a story, where your choosiness matters:
Jenny LeClue weaves a rich metanarrative around a rich story exploring themes of family, loss, and identity. The "author" of Jenny's adventures, Arthur K Finklestein, acts as narrator and guide, but his presence also allows you to make choices that change the way Jenny's story is written. These choices may even affect Finklestein’s own story.

A Diverse Cast Of Characters & Locations:
Explore Arthurton’s expansive world including the abandoned mines, the forgotten graveyard, Lake Noware, and Gumboldt's Library. Jenny will meet an array of intriguing and suspicious characters who could help or hinder her on her quest for the truth.

Det. Scifi Adventure with minor letdowns

Positive: + Surprisingly deep/rich story with unexpected plot-twists. + Dialogue choices that actually matter and effect the story. + 13-15 hours of gameplay. You're definitely getting your money's worth. + this game looks beautiful! each chapter surprises with new graphics + Soundtrack by sntfc (who also did the OST for Oxenfree, Old Man's Journey...) + Huge colorful diary where everything you experience is noted down + Diary is customizable to your liking, with collectable stickers you find hidden throughout the game. Negative: - This is only Part 1!! Meaning you're left with an open end/cliffhanger. Which I did not know because it's not written anywhere. - repetitive puzzles that felt a little tedious after the 2nd and 3rd time. - There's no voice acting yet - No Achievements on release day. I cannot recommend playing this game yet. I'd wait a little longer to see If the devs are even working/planning on releasing part 2 to finish the story.

I Enjoyed the ride. . . BUT THEN

The Game felt like half Open and Lineargame, but nothing too major to throw you off the ride. However, in my playthrough I noticed some bizarre bugs whit the camera which could sometimes lock itself to puzzle or objects, forcing me to quit the menu and using continue option. And to those wondering. No, This game dose doesn't have manual saving, So you have to play for a save spot which there is plenty, Worst case might be that you will send back maybe 10 - 15 min. Quickie side note the keyboard and mouse setup isn't very good so I used an Xbox controller instead and that was working fine. But my main gripe with the game is its abrupt ending, which hindered my full enjoyment of this game, as in the story indicates there is more, but as you are just getting into to the taste of that Sweet LeClue cake. PUFF, Its over and the credits roll, But not before saying, To be continued. Like it's okay, I don't really feel super annoyed about this. . . But I thought that this was a full game, Well, at least story wise because it's hard to say how much my action matter in the next part, If there ever be next part and for that long build up to end like this is a; No No Only one thing could be fixed now and that would make me a little happy Mografi company or gog, I don't know which exactly. Could add to the name or the store page that this is a part 1 or episode 1 of the jenny leclue, As currently name implies that this all of jenny, Which I don't think is accurate. However, I can still say that yes, it's a good game whit some issue, And yes, it was worth a buy

Great Art Style And A Fun Story

Jenny Leclue has some fun / charming moments. I’d describe it as being: 60% visual novel, 30% hidden-object game, and 10% puzzles. First, the positives: You can tell a lot of work went into the game. The art and animation are both excellent - with clean, colorful backgrounds and animation that really makes the characters and world come alive. There’s also a lot of variety in the environments - which is great. The writing is good and really shines in some areas. Jenny, the protagonist, is done particularly well. She has a great personality and is very likable. The overall story does kind of drag in some places but is generally OK. For the negatives: The first is the ‘hidden-object’ mechanics. You’ll spend a lot of time moving the cursor around a mostly static screen - hunting for ‘clues.’ This, combined with no mouse support, makes the job especially tedious. Use a controller if you have one. There’s also no voice in the game yet - which means reading lots of dialogue instead of watching all the great character animation. (It’s my understanding that they’re planning to add voice later. I think this would improve the game quite a bit - provided it’s done well.) Lastly, the music gets repetitive. Clicking through dialogue with the same music looping over and over, made me kind of sleepy. I was leaning toward three stars, but settled on four because of the high polish, and the promise of a VO patch.

Want to buy but you lie

I think its outrageous to hear (not just from these reviews) that this is only 1 episode and the game finishes on to be continued. I cant find anything online as to when the next part will be out. This is very deceitful and so for that reason alone I will not buy this game. I have purchased over 300 games on GOG and never ever have I seen a game that doesnt make it clear it episodic. Thumbs down to Mografi

A Pleasant Detective Experience

Things I loved about this game: - As an artist I was in awe of the art style and animations. It made the atmosphere unique and helped the story come alive with its brilliant renders and colors. - The characters. I was especially impressed with how Jenny, the protagonist was written. She had humor, was relatable in her reactions and was an interesting character from the beggining. It made me root for her throughout the whole game. - The humor. Witty, not in your face, clever placing in the dialogues and in the details of the game. - The story. If you love crime novels and detective stories, you will enjoy this ride. The revelations and twists are unexpected and refreshing, I was engaged through the whole story. - Bonus: the creative way of how Jenny solves her "cases". It was a fun and refreshing mechanic and also worked as a prop to implement her personality. Things I didn't like: - The lack of mouse support. You are left to use your keyboard to move around and interact with objects, even if it was more logical to use a mouse. It felt unnatural and I hope they will improve this part of the game. - The lack of voice acting. I wasn't bothered by this, but some might find it a turn off. The writing does make up for it though. - This is just part 1!! I'm looking forward to what is next. Overall a very pleasant experience for 15-16 hours of gameplay. I would recommend for everyone who likes detective stories and is looking for a nice way to spend the evenings.
