Core Game Has 3 of 4 Difficulty Avail
In response to igorium, (I have only played the original and I doubt the add-ons would change this, but could be wrong) 3 of the 4 difficulty levels are available right after the base tutorial (which may be 15 minutes or so to complete). The tutorial (needs to be completed, and is also on the easiest difficulty) just happens to blend into the main game - you are free to abandon the first save slot and start a new save at difficulty level 2 or 3 right after the in-game instructions end. I liked the game a lot. However, running the game at minimum system spec is asking for trouble. On a personal note, I am sitting at the final boss and may never finish because of RNG and diminishing returns with each attempt. YMMV
