Great game, for greater gamers than me.
Pros: + Amazingly detailed, beautiful hand drawn animations + Interesting and original setting and lore + Unique twist on traditional MetroidVania traversal\ combat mechanics + Better than average voice acting, storytelling, and music Honestly, I feel like the "cons" are mostly personal opinion, but: - The game is still receiving regular (bi-weekly) updates. This would be fine, but it seems to also extend the startup load time. Whenever you start the game it goes to a lightly animated background with a running animation. But the first time I played, I had to wait at this screed for close to 10 minutes, wondering if it had soft locked or something. After an update isn't nearly as bad, but still a little frustrating. A progress bar would be great. - The map system is fairly cumbersome. Having to switch between specific screens and the larger world map got tedious. Some form of minimap would do wonders. - This is definitely for more advanced gamers. Even on the easiest difficulty which adds an extra, uniquely animated (which was nice) jump, I wasn't able to get very far. The platforming precision combined with powering up and switching attacks for combat and traversal got to be overwhelming for me. - Some of the enemies can just be a real pain to deal with. In particular, there are some that travel in loop paths that make them much more of a hassle than a paricular challenge to deal with. Overall though, I can tell there is a lot of love put into making this game. Unfortunately, it's a little too tough for me.
