Is Any of This Real?

After a few minutes I asked myself, "Is this really the whole game?" But then it got weird and interesting. A young man is accompanied by five drivers on a surreal quest to regain his memories and uncover the truth behind what happened to his girlfriend. Is it all a dream? Is the young man dying? Is any of it actually happening? Who knows. Hitchhiker is minimally interactive but enough to remain engaging throughout its fairly brief playtime. The gameplay consists mostly of selecting dialog responses, and there are a few simple puzzles peppered across the five chapters. I would recommend Hitchhiker for anyone looking for a casual, emotional, and thoughtful interactive experience.

An Interactive Story I'll Never Forget.

Hitchhiker is more of an interactive novel than a video game. The parts are well voice acted, the story is well written, I was captivated the whole way through. It's a relaxing experience, like an old friend reading you a story. There's heart and meaning in each new turn. You can't change the story significantly, but you still feel a part of it, rather than just an observer. I think that's what makes it so good, you become invested because you start to feel like the main character. If you like a relaxing story that keeps you engaged with mystery and puzzle solving, then you'll like Hitchhiker.

Like a feverish dream

This game is totally strange, like a feverish dream - maybe if you love Alice in Wonderland (but way more strange) you might enjoy this. It's not a regular mystery, it's got nothing with reality to do, everything's just so odd that you likely won't care a bit about the story and just quit halvway through like I did. Very sad, since the idéa about these relaxing carrides are awesome - like walking-sims but you don't even have to walk ;) Very relaxing and nice graphics and all, but wow, I did not expect this kind of a "story"!
