Has its flaws, but was fun at the time.

Back when I started gaming, this was one of these cool things you saw in the gaming zines. When I finally got to play it, it was rather meh. Pro: Rather creative race tracks with loops, jumps etc. Cool idea of setting Con: limted car choice (Chevy Impala '57, Ford Mustang, Dragster with rocket boost) The further you advance, the less opponents on track (with the Dragsters, it's one-one-one) Limited graphics and sound (I remember the machine gun sounding rather like a popcorn machine) No multiplayer (fine for me, but I see this is an issue when it comes to racing games) No damage model Certainly nice to see one of "my" games returning, but in today's day and age quite outdated. One of those for nostalgia collectors.

Not in best shape, nostalgia

I had a few technical problems while trying to play this game. Sometimes I don't have a mouse cursor in the initial menu. Sadly there don't seem to be an alternative way to use the keyboard instead. Tabbing out does occasionally help, but sometimes the screen stays black instead. Despite this I was able to drive a bit and must say that it really didn't age that well. The original had CD music which played through a race. In this version I wasn't able to hear it, maybe it is missing or there is another technical issue? I do remember that there were some technical issues when it released and I am not sure if the given problems are easy to fix.

It works on Windows 7

Still my favorite race game as ramming a wall doesn't make you lose and as it got weapons. Small bugs like no music in the room and seeing the shop items 3x and they're transparent, but it's not a game breaker.
