Good old shmup
Ghost Pilot was part of the first wave of Neo Geo games, back when SNK was trying to have a diverse line up of games and not just a million fighting games. They made beat'em ups, shmups, platformers and more. Ghost Pilot is an old school shmup: enemies are slow, bullets are slow and your plane is big and slow. This creates an almost relaxing pace, very different from modern shooters. Don't get me wrong though, the game is still hard as balls, it's an arcade after all. There are better shmups on GOG, but if you're a Neo Geo nostaligc like me or just enjoy old school shooters, this is a nice addition to your collection. P.S. The porting work from Code Mystics is excellent!
