Not as good as the first game

I was really excited to see what the developers had come up with since Knights of Pen and Paper was a really positive surprise. Unfortunally in my opnion the story is not as good and also mared by a generic mission builder that really does not fit into the core concept of this game. They have added space battle... while on paper it's a good idea the space battles are very basic compaired to the tactical combat on the ground. What I do like about the game is that the classes to a higher extend support each others skills. The fighting is more interesting due to this but it does not save the overall game design. Still I hope that the developers learn a lot from this. It is always difficult to make a follow up to a big success. Keep on hacking devs! :)

Party like its 2999

A solid sequel; and a fun and casual RPG. Friendly pixelated graphics matched to primitve 3D paint a cheerful picture of the turn of the millenium gaming while solid and sometimes even witty writing hits easy targets for gentle laughs. I wasn't sure how old to feel when I got virtually all of the jokes and references spanning a half-century of science fiction tropes and luminaries. The game itself is relatively forgiving though you'll be a little stumped for a while if this is your first outing with Pen and Paper or if you're a bit rusty on the conventions. Combats are just varied enough and the skill trees are simple but satisfying. Good combo sets feel rewarding and enemies aren't specifically built to break the good combos. I'm not sure if it is because of the post-launch shakedown but I had no difficulty staying well ahead of the difficulty curve level-wise (I ground a fair bit in the beginning and then story XP kept me leveling smoothly ahead of the fixed story missions). This was great for me since as a parent I have limited time and patience for punishment. If you're still here: advice if you catch any release bugs: send a report, and quit to menu and try again.

Excellent but flawed

This is an enjoyable addictive turn-based RPG game with a fun story. It is, however, slightly marred by the repetitiveness of the gameplay, the shallowness of the level up/skill system, and the fact that several things that are in the mobile version are inexplicably missing from this desktop version.

Grinding Game

It's entertaining and fun but it's a game made for grinding every single credit, so you spend hours and hours fighting the same enemies over and over again just to get some credits and xp.

Better than I expected

After seeing the reviews I was a bit skeptical about this game, but I have to say that I really like playing Galaxy of Pen & Paper, I've completed it once and started it all over again. Is it grindy? Yes, but I enjoy the combats and it gets much better the longer you play. I guess it's a matter of tastes but I loved this little game as much as I was disappointed with Chroma Squad. Give it a chance and you might be in for a pleasant surprise.
