Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat.
Story
You’ve come here for a reason. The Union Aerospace Corporation’s massive research facility on Mars is overwhelmed by fierce and powerful demons, and only one person stands between their world and ours. As the lone DOOM Marine, you’ve been activated to do one thing – kill them all.
A Relentless Campaign
There is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.
Please note: The DRM-Free version of DOOM (2016) is single-player only. Multiplayer and SnapMap are not included. SnapMap cosmetics are unlocked by default.
Solid game,
I own this game on steam and just bought it on gog for the sole reasons of actually owning it, and because of how awesome it its; The soundtrack is the audio version of this game. I haven't beat the story but I'm close to it, so far the combat is great, gory, and it has that DOOM feel. The enemy variety is great, and the levels as well. The amount of options is also great, and provides many different ways to scale out performance. In my humble opinion this is a solid PC game.
We've certainly fallen a long way from when id would just turn off CD key authentication when games reached a certain age. Cutting out multiplayer and SnapMap doesn't really qualify to me as preserving the original game. What remains here is excellent, and hopefully Mick Gordon gets a few cents if you buy the soundtrack given how he was treated making the sequel's music.
We all know the game already. An action packed demon killing bonanza taking place on Mars, where we play one buff dude carrying a stupendous arsenal of glorious weapons. Seeing blood, guts and gore while listening to a banging soundtradck by Mick Gordon is the name of the game. And we are here for it.
I bought my copy here, so I can own the game instead of renting it on Steam.
Now waiting for the 3 add-ons - Unto the Evil, Hell Followed and Bloodfall - and Doom Eternal.
