Dagon: by H. P. Lovecraft

For somebody like me who has never read any of Howard Philips Lovecraft's works and only knew about them from references found in many games and pop culture, this game serves a great introduction. Its well-made graphics and great narrator's voice have made this game even more atmospheric for a visual novel. This game also provides interesting 'Did You Know?' tidbits about Dagon short story and the author himself. These tidbits are particularly interesting to me as they explain how some of Lovecraft's works might have been misunderstood in modern-day pop-culture due to various reasons. Some of the tidbit also show that Lovecraft, like any other persons, is somebody with contradictions and strong opinions. Highly recommended!

If you like the Lovecraft stories like I do you need this game! I play nearly every game with the tag Lovcraftarian, but this game is by far the best. No forced action parts, not the desorientation from open world or semi open levels. Just a narrated stories with animations and sounds. Just Magneficent! Would love to see stories like "The Nameless City", "The Cats of Ulthar", "The Music of Eric Zann" or "The Picture in the House" or even better "The Outsider". Just this way of narration made it so much more thrilling, dense... Im just flashed. Directly bought the DLC and waiting for the next. PLEASE continue doing this with Lovecraft stories!

I enjoyed this game, tremendously! I have heard of Lovecraftian lore all my life, without ever reading any of the works. This game let me experience "Dagon" and also helped me learn about the author and some general history. I, highly, recommend this game!

If you are looking for a spooky visual novel, here is a great option, it is also a good introduction to H.P. Lovecraft as some have already mentioned. It is short, about 30 min or so of content, but you decide if that is a good or bad thing.
