Little more than a novelty

Xiangqi given the Battle Chess treatment. And just like the original Battle Chess games, once the novelty of animations wears off you are left with an inferior version of the game. The game does not enforce the generals can't oppose each other rule. Just like the older Battle Chess games it is agonisingly slow to play, and upping the CPU cycles on dosbox doesn't make it any faster. Outside of nostalgia or historical spelunking can't recommend.
